Bula from Fiji.
We had wonderful weather over the weekend.
It was a lovely, relaxing holiday—cooking comforting meals at home, doing some tidying up, and catching the World Cup matches.
During the break, I took a little trip to one of my absolute favorite spots in Fiji: the Garden of the Sleeping Giant.
This place holds a very special heart in my place.
It’s filled with a wide variety of Fijian plants, and since it’s nestled right in the mountains, you can truly submerge yourself in the raw, untouched beauty of nature.
If you keep walking, you can hike up to the viewpoint at the top, which offers a stunning, panoramic view of Nadi.
The trail is actually much steeper than you’d expect, so it doubles as a great workout!
As I was relaxing at the viewpoint, taking it all in, a sudden thought crossed my mind.
"I’ve really changed since moving to Fiji."
Back in my old life, I realized I was always rushing or feeling anxious about the next thing.
I would head out to a cafe just to slow down, but after fighting through crowded trains and busy streets, I’d arrive already feeling exhausted.
Or, I’d book a massage to cure that exhaustion, but then find myself stressing over making it exactly on time, or worrying about having to call if I was running late.
Of course, having so many options back then was exciting, and it was a fun chapter in its own way.
But being here now has given me the rare gift to step back and re-evaluate who I am.
Honestly, even if I were to return to that fast-paced lifestyle tomorrow, I feel like I would be different now.
No matter where I am in the world, I think I’ve finally learned how to live in a way that feels true to myself.
The serene nature of the Sleeping Giant was so incredibly healing today, as it always is.
Do you have a special place that allows you to pause and look within?
Wishing you all a beautiful week ahead at your own gentle pace.
