Last weekend, we spent two relaxing days at Shangri-La Fiji on the Coral Coast.
Although we had visited the resort several times for meals, this was our first overnight stay.
Traveling with our children, we decided not to fill our schedule with activities.
Instead, we wanted to enjoy something much simpler—doing nothing.
Shangri-La Fiji sits on its own small island, connected to the mainland by a bridge. Surrounded by crystal-clear water and tropical scenery, it feels peaceful from the moment you arrive.
The resort’s spacious gardens, gentle sea breeze, and warm hospitality create the perfect place to slow down.
There was no need for a busy itinerary. A walk along the beach, a quiet afternoon in our room, and watching the ocean were more than enough.
When we used to travel, we often felt the need to make every moment count by planning activities from morning to night.
But these days, we’ve come to appreciate a different kind of luxury—the freedom to slow down.
Staying at a hotel also means taking a break from everyday routines.
No cooking, no rushing, just time to rest and enjoy being together as a family.
Sometimes, the most memorable trips aren’t the ones packed with experiences.
They’re the ones that remind us how good it feels to simply be present.
We’ve also shared a short video from our stay on YouTube. We hope it brings a little of Fiji’s peaceful island life to your day.
